La argentina Úrsula Díaz hizo cumbre en el Everest

Se convirtió en la segunda mujer argentina en lograr este desafío.
La deportista catamarqueña Úrsula Díaz conquistó la “Cima del Mundo”, el Monte Everest (8.8848 MSNM), marcando un hecho histórico para el deporte nacional.

La andinista oriunda de Belén, provincia de Catamarca, luego de más de 40 días de expedición pudo lograr hacer cumbre en el punto más alto de la tierra, siendo además la primera argentina en hacer cima este año y la segunda en la historia de la montaña más alta del mundo.

Esta cima es la culminación a casi 12 meses de una ardua preparación, no tan solo en lo físico, junto a un gran equipo de compañeros y preparadores, sino también de una ardua búsqueda de sponsors que confiaron en ella para poder lograr este objetivo tan importante en su vida deportiva y personal.

La montañista se encuentra en perfecto estado de salud, entera, íntegra y con la gran satisfacción de haber conseguido el objetivo que se propuso desde hace muchos años, y además de poner a Catamarca en lo más alto del mundo.

Sin lugar a dudas, éste es el hecho más importante del deporte local en muchos años, un hecho tan significativo como otros grandes hitos del deporte catamarqueño.

La noticia fue conocida a través de las redes sociales. En Facebook, el montañista Pablo Bravo, el hombre que estuvo con Úrsula Díaz en la llegada después de haber hecho cumbre, comunicaba lo siguiente:

“Úrsula hizo cumbre el 18 de mayo con su sherpa. Fue un día con mucho viento y con muy poca gente en la cumbre... Su sherpa se sorprendió de la velocidad de Úrsula, ya que desde el South Col se suele tardar 12 horas, y ella tardó 9”.

Además, agregó que “ella bajó el domingo por la noche, ayer a la mañana se pegó una ducha y está como nueva, parece que hubiera subido un cerrito”.

“Ella almorzó conmigo y mi esposa en el campamento de Benegas Brothers Expeditions. Ella se hizo muy amiga de Damián Benegas y su staff, incluso participó de varios mini cursos de escalada en hielo que dictó Damián, a pesar de que ella está con otra empresa. Gracias a su personalidad se hizo conocer por todo el campo base. Todo el mundo la quiere, acá en nuestro base campamento es una de las visitas favoritas”, continuó Bravo.

Por otra parte, expresó: “Mi señora está aquí trabajando para un documental norteamericano y yo como base camp manager de Benegas, es así que justo la enganchamos a Úrsula y le hicimos una entrevista”.

“El primer argentino en hacer cumbre en el Everest este año es la catamarqueña Úrsula Díaz. Acabamos de estar con ella en el Base Camp. Bajó muy entera. En lo personal quiero agradecer a todos los que la ayudaron a emprender esta aventura. No saben lo bien que hicieron”, sentenció Bravo.

The catamarqueña athlet Ursula Diaz conquered the “Top of the world”, the Everest Mount (8.8848 MASL), marking a historical fact for the national sport.

The climber native from Belén, Catamarca province, after more than 40 days of expedition could reach the challenge to be on the highest point on earth, being also the first Argentinian to summit this year and the second in the history of the highest mountain in the world.

The news was known through social networks. On Facebook, the mountaineer Pablo Bravo, the man who was with Ursula Diaz arrival after making summit, reported the following:

"Ursula summited on May 18 with her Sherpa. It was a windy day and there was very few people at the top... Her sherpa was surprised at the speed of Ursula, since from the South Col it usually takes 12 hours, and it took 9 to her".

”. He added that "she fell on Sunday night, yesterday morning had a shower and she is like new, seems to have gone up a hill."

"She had lunch with me and my wife at Camp Benegas Brothers Expeditions. She became close friends with Damian Benegas and his staff, she even participated in several mini ice climbing courses dictated by Damian, even though she is with another company. Thanks to his personality she became known throughout the base camp. Everyone loves her, and here in our camp she is a favorite of visitors, "continued Bravo.

On the other hand, he said: "My wife is here working for an American film and I am the Benegas base camp manager,this is how we just hook Ursula and we did her an interview."

"The first Argentine to summit on Everest this year is the catamarqueña Ursula Diaz. We have just be with her in the Base Camp. She went down pretty full. I personally want to thank everyone who helped this adventure. Do not know how well they did, " said Bravo.
